Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) has published an official notification for the flagship Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Recruitment 2026. Vacancy Details & Qualification Criteria
The 11,558 vacancies are divided broadly into two levels: Undergraduate (12th pass) posts and Graduate level posts.
1. Undergraduate Level Posts (12th Pass)
- Commercial cum Ticket Clerk: Passed 12th (+2 Stage) or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (50% condition not applicable for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen).
- Junior Clerk cum Typist: Passed 12th (+2 Stage) or equivalent with proficiency in typing on Computer (English: 30 WPM / Hindi: 25 WPM).
- Accounts Clerk cum Typist: Passed 12th (+2 Stage) or equivalent with proficiency in typing on Computer.
- Trains Clerk: Passed 12th (+2 Stage) or its equivalent from a recognized Board/University.
2. Graduate Level Posts (Degree)
- Station Master: University Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.
- Goods Train Manager (Goods Guard): University Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.
- Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor: Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- Senior Clerk cum Typist: Graduate Degree from a recognized University with computer typing skill.
- Junior Account Assistant cum Typist: Graduation Degree in any discipline with typing proficiency.

Selection Process
The recruitment process for RRB NTPC involves multiple standardized recruitment stages. Candidates must clear each stage to qualify for final empanelment.
- 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1): Screening test common for all undergraduate and graduate posts. Contains objective multiple-choice questions on General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence & Reasoning.
- 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2): Post-level specific examination with a higher level of difficulty.
- Skill Test / Aptitude Test (As Applicable):
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): For Station Master posts.
- Typing Skill Test (TST): For Clerk cum Typist and Account Assistant posts.
